ONE Championship is taking MMA to another level with their epic event scheduled on the 20th of April 2018, tagged “HEROES OF HONOR” at the Manilla’s Mall of Asia Arena in Philippines.
The main event features a Filipino bantamweight warrior Kevin Belingon and an American professional mixed martial artit and co founder of Bali MMA, Andrew Leone.
Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon, as he is often identified, is a super-striker whose striking superiority has earned him 4 win streak. He has determined to win his opponent in the forthcoming bout to get another shot at the ONE Bantamweight World Championship held currently by the Brazillian Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes.
“I know what’s at stake here, and I know I have to beat Andrew Leone to get another shot at the title, I have to continue to give fans what they want, and to leave nothing to chance. Hard work will pay off soon enough. The title is within reach. I will beat Andrew Leone, and continue my march towards the belt,” he said.
Andrew Leone, known for his grappling tactics said he learnt his lessons after his fellow grapplers’ made mistakes against the Filipino striker.
“I am going to strike with him. I will obviously look to setup my grappling exchanges but it’s not going to come without strikes,” said Leone.
“I think he’s been able to best some high level grapplers in the past because they went about the fight in a little bit of a wrong way. I will try to learn from their past failures and do my best out there.”
ONE Championship just recently announced that some of its event will be held in a five-rope ring instead of the traditional cage.
