The president of North Korea, Kim Jong Un has agreed to suspend the country’s Nuclear tests. He made this announcement on Saturday on the state-run news media, KCNA.

“Under the proven condition of complete nuclear weapons, we no longer need any nuclear tests, mid-range and intercontinental ballistic rocket tests, and that the nuclear test site in northern area has also completed its mission”, said Kim as quoted by KCNA.

In a tweet sent out in acceptance of the news, US President Donald Trump welcomed the decision and said it is a big progress.

“North Korea has agreed to suspend all Nuclear Tests and close up a major test site. This is very good news for North Korea and the World – big progress! Look forward to our Summit”, tweeted Trump.

North Korean Nuclear tests has been one of the important issues Donald Trump has sworn to address in his foreign policy. So to the POTUS, this is a land mark achievement and worthy of note.

It could be recalled that series of cold wars and rhetoric has occurred between the US and the North Korean Peninsula.
